Breathable Membrane & Insulating Layer for Pitched Roofs
Breathe-R Ultra is a higher performing of our popular roofing membrane Breathe-R. Using this instead of a standard breather membrane, it will help to insulate your home, preventing cold bridging and also reflect radiant heat back into your home. During warmer months, it will prevent heat entering the roof space.
Breathe-R Ultra consists of 3 layers a durable and high performing roofing membrane, a recycled internal wadding layer, and an internal reflective true aluminium foil layer which is perforated for breathability. At just 11mm thick it’s often used in roofs where head height is an issue. Due to it’s slim makeup it’s equivalent to around 30mm of polystyrene.
Compared to a traditional breather membrane, this product can increase the reduction of heat loss by up to 39% which will help you save on your energy bills and reduce energy consumption. Eliminates condensation, allowing moisture to pass through the membrane. This reduces the risk of damp of mould.

How does Breathe-R Ultra Work?
Breathe-R Ultra works by reflecting heat back into the home, whilst allowing moisture to escape through the product, preventing the risk of condensation. It replaces a traditional Breathable Membrane, whilst adding a great thermal performance to the Pitched Roof.
Recommended product to cut Breathe-R Ultra?
Breathe-R Ultra can be easily cut using our Multifoil Scissors, which can be purchased separately or as part of our EcoPro Multifoil Fitting Kit.
Is Breathe-R Ultra Suitable for Roofs and Walls?
Yes, alongside Pitched Roofs, Breathe-R Ultra is also suitable for external use on a Timber Frame Wall.
Is there a thicker version of the Breathe-R Ultra
Yes, for improved thermal benefits we would recommend our BreatherQuilt Insulation, which holds an R-Value of 1.62 and is a higher performing and less cost alternative to TLX Gold. This product is also BDA certified for Building Control.
